Staff

Daniel Gros is the Director of CEPS. He holds Ph.D (University of Chicago, 1984). He has served on the staff of the IMF, as an advisor at the European Commission, the European Parliament, French Prime Minister and Finance Minister and the governments of Russia, Ukraine & other Central and Eastern European countries. His main area of expertise are European Monetary Union, Macroeconomic policy, Economics of transition to a market economy, Political economy of the Wider Europe, Public finance, Banking and financial markets.

Senior fellow, Jørgen Mortensen holds a MSc degree in economics and statistics from the University of Copenhagen (1963). After less than two years at Statistics Denmark and the University of Copenhagen he joined the OECD from 1965 to 1973. From 1973 to 1988 he was head of unit at the European Commission (Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs). After an early retirement he has worked in particular as an Associate Senior Research Fellow of CEPS. He is contributing to the management and coordination of the European Network of Economic Policy Research Institutes (ENEPRI) instigated and managed by CEPS and FP6 research projects in the field of health care and retirement provision.

Felix Roth is a research fellow at CEPS. He holds doctoral degree in economics from University of Göttingen. During his PhD project he was a research fellow at the Postgraduate Program “The Future of the European Social Model” at the University of Göttingen and Visiting Researcher at the London School of Economics. His doctoral thesis analysed the relationship between social capital, trust and economic growth.

Cecilia Frale is a visiting fellow. She holds a bachelor in Statistics from University of Rome La Sapienza and a Masters in Economics and Institutions from University of Rome Tor Vergata and is currently in the process of finishing her doctoral degree in Econometrics at the same University. Her research focuses on quantification and disaggregation of time series for nowcasting and forecasting.

Juraj Draxler is an associate research fellow at CEPS. He is also a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. His main research focus is the political economy of the welfare state. He co-wrote a recent CEPS report for the European Commission (DG Employment and Social Affairs) on the social impact of globalisation and is involved in an FP6 project on the future of retirement provision in the EU.

Ilaria Maselli is a research assistant and coordinator of ENEPRI. She is currently in the process of finishing her master in European Affairs at the University of Bologna and writing a thesis on the exportability of flexicurity in big countries.
